COOK BOOKS STILL POPULAR

I love it when the students come to see me with things they have made at home after issuing a book from the library. Englysh made some yummy Fudge cake and brought me a piece to try.

Those Tricky Subjects

I have just purchased four books from the Let's Talk series. Titles include I Remember, When My Parents Forgot How To Be Friends, Have You Got A Secret and Daddy's Getting Married.
I have set up an area for these books out the back and have labeled it Parents Library,as some of these topics are tricky ones to discuss. These books are written in a very child friendly way that, as parents you can read alongside your child to open up dialogue and stimulate communication. They are available to be issued to you. Just pop into the library and I will join you up. Please also let me know if there is any other titles you may be interested in.

Lets Create

Brooke took a craft book out of the library last week and made good use of it. Following the instructions on her favourite page she created a feather headband and brought it to school to show us all.

The Challenge

I set a challenge for a student who loves to take home cooking books from the library, choose 1 page and follow the recipe on it then bring it into to show me. What a delight to find Mikayla on the doorstep waiting for me this morning with a chocolate beetle just like in the book. Yes Mikayla you completed the quest!

Lunchtime Gametime

What a hive of activity in the Library at lunchtime. There are games to play like Buckaroo and Connect Four. Colouring in is very popular or just a quiet read.
